Taskmaster season 16 spoiler follow.

Taskmaster is keeping fans on their toes with a supposedly mysterious secret task.

This year's lineup — Julian Clary, Lucy Beaumont, Sam Campbell, Sue Perkins and Susan Wokoma — may be soon sucked into an unexpected challenge if Alex Horne's words are anything to go by.

Greg Davies' sidekick kept on hinting at a secret task throughout tonight's (October 19) episode, earning a few weird looks from the taskers, as well as some puzzled comments from viewers on social media.

"Is there a twist to this task, with Alex asking about a secret clue earlier," one person wrote on Twitter/X.

"I'm looking forward to finding out what this whole 'secret task' thing is about," was another comment.

As it turns out, not everyone was a fan of having a secret task referenced constantly, with some being frustrated at the lack of additional information.

"It's really bugging me that @AlexHorne keeps asking about secret tasks around the house," one user wrote.

While Alex didn't offer much else in the way of revealing what the task could be about (it wouldn't be secret if he did, after all), this episode had plenty of not-so-secret tasks to keep everyone entertained.

After Sue smashed the first task, managing to burst a balloon from the furthest distance without looking at it, she and the other contestants were called to create a cool, scary-looking gang use a bunch of googly eyes (a nod to Everything Everywhere All At Once perhaps?).

It was Sam's three-eyed boots crew that took the five points, while Susan's clique of murderous everyday objects and household items got four, though fans seemed to truly appreciate Julian's adorably menacing teapots.

Finally, the group had to put some red-tinted water back in a vase without any spillage, leading to Susan resorting to an impractical slurping and spitting method that worked to near perfection.

At the end of an eventful night that saw Lucy consistently at the bottom of the ranking, it was Julian who earned the most points and won the episode.

Taskmaster series 16 airs and streams on Thursday nights at 9pm on Channel 4, where you can also stream previous series.
