Taste bubblies to celebrate spring Geneva-area wineries

Apr. 19—The bubbly wine called champagne in France is the focus for tastings on April weekends thanks to a collaboration from a trio of wineries and a distillery in the Geneva area.

The tastings, accompanied by appetizers, is being offered from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekends at Ferrante Winery & Ristorante, 5585 State Route 307; Kosicek Vineyards, 636 Ohio Route 534; and Laurello Vineyards, 4573 Ohio Route 307. Seven Brothers Distilling, 6527 N. River Road W., Harpersfield Township, will join in with tastings of a craft cocktail from 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays and 2 to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Each establishment will pour two tastes for $10.

Here's what you'll find:

Ferrante Winery & Ristorante: Sparkling Star Seeker Moscato Paired with Ricotta Cavatelli in a Light Champagne Crème with Sweet Peas, and its award-winning Grand River Valley Riesling.

Kosicek Vineyards: Sparkling Rhapsody paired with Raspberry Sorbet with a Vanilla Wafer and its New Sparkling Riesling.

Laurello Vineyards: Sparkling Rose Paired with green apple slices, Brie with Honey Drizzle and Illuminata.

Seven Brothers Distilling will serve a Bubble Bee cocktail of its Botanical Gin and Ferrante's Sparkling Moscato paired with a sweet and salty snack.
