Virginia CaribFest is back for its 18th year to celebrate the West Indian carnival culture. Festivities include a parade, food and musical performances by Patrice Roberts, Lyrikal, Adam O and more. Join the fun.

Don’t miss the Taste of Suffolk. More than 15 eateries will be participating such as Rennee’s Restaurant & Lounge, Totoy’s and The Pink Box. The Wall Street Café will be sponsoring the Heat and Sweet eating contests throughout the day. The after-party takes place at the Courthouse Fountain Park Beer Garden and lasts until 8 p.m.

Good eatin’

The 43rd Sandbridge Pig Pickin’ will keep bellies full and the music pumping by The Hotcakes Band. The menu consists of barbecue and fried chicken with sides and soft drinks. Top it off with beer, wine and ice cream. Proceeds benefit the Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad.
