Tasty Biscuit and Pho Chicago & Cajun now open; 2 other food businesses announce Naperville plans

A new breakfast and brunch restaurant is open for business on the north side of Naperville.

The Tasty Biscuit hosted its grand opening Monday at 1112 E. Ogden Ave.

Signature dishes at the new restaurant include The Sugga Momma, a Southern fried chicken breast drizzled with honey sauce and topped with cheesy scrambled eggs between two sugar waffles, and The Sugga Baby, cheesy scrambled eggs with a sausage patty, shaved country ham and hickory smoked bacon between waffles.

For something a bit more spicy, there’s also a stuff Cajun cheese steak biscuit and the Sausage Head Biscuit, a buttermilk biscuit stuffed with andouille sausage, chorizo and griddled jalapeños and onion that’s topped with two eggs over easy and sliced avocado and smothered in pepper Jack cheese sauce.

The restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

New Vietnamese restaurant opens downtown

A new restaurant is serving up Vietnamese classic cuisine and noodle soups daily with a twist of Cajun seafood on the weekends at 43 E. Jefferson Ave. in the downtown storefront that previously housed another Vietnamese restaurant.

Pho Chicago & Cajun took over ownership in July from Green Basil, which had been in business more than a decade.

The new restaurant recently opened with a Vietnamese ceremonial offering in the hope that it will bring blessings and good fortune.

Nashville-style hot chicken headed to town

A touch of Nashville is coming to Naperville.

Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken is opening a new storefront at 760 N. Route 59, Suite 112. It’s located just north of North Aurora Road.

According to the chain, which started in Virginia, the chicken is first marinated in a spicy cayenne pepper-based sauce and then fried until crisp.

The restaurant features chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers and wings in six different spice levels: no seasoning, no heat (but a little spicy), mild, medium, hot and angry hot. A waiver is needed for the last.

Hangry Joe’s has 26 locations in Virginia, New Jersey, Texas, Maryland and Pennsylvania with plans to open 55 new locations across the United States, including Naperville, Chicago and Mount Prospect.

New bubble tea shop opening

South Naperville will soon be getting a new bubble tea shop, Kung Fu Tea at 3108 S. Route 59 in Suite 132.

Founded in 2010 in Queens, New York, Kung Fu Tea is a made-to-order beverage chain with more than 350 locations across the United States, Canada, Cambodia and Australia.

The tea is freshly brewed every three hours and standard bubbles cooked every two hours.

The bestsellers are the orange green tea and strawberry lemonade, which are made with freshly squeezed juices, the company says.
