Tattoo being used to identify pedestrian killed in hit and run in Myrtle Beach SC area
The Horry County Coroner’s Office is asking for help in identifying a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on May 27 on North Kings Highway.
The man is identified as in his late 40s, white, weighing 170 pounds and is between 5 foot, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, according to a release sent by Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The man has light brown or sandy blonde hair and his mustache and goatee are graying.
The coroner’s office sent a photo of the man’s tattoo on his right bicep in hopes that it can help in his identification. He has no other tattoos, but does have some kind of skin sensitivity, the release said.
The man was killed about 10:22 p.m. May 27 by a vehicle at 9440 North Kings Highway, just south of the Lake Arrowhead Kroger, the coroner’s office said. South Carolina Highway Patrol said the accident happened near Cove Drive.
“We have exhausted all avenues we have and the need the public’s help in identifying this individual,” Willard said in the release.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol had posted a flyer with a photo of the possible vehicle involved in the accident on its Twitter page.

The make and model is unknown. The vehicle will have damage on the front and on the hood, Lieutenant Sonny Collins said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the crash to call *HP.
