Tatum Creek, Clayton Meiss receive PCJHS weekly honors

Clayton Meiss has been selected as the Athlete of the Week at Prairie Central Jr. High by track and field coach Clay Pinkham. Clayton, an eighth grader, is the son of Kevin and Kati Meiss of Fairbury.

“Clayton is a humble leader who runs with a lot of heart,” Pinkham said. “He keeps breaking personal records and is always a smiling face at practice.”

Besides track, Landon participates in FFA and basketball. He also works for his father on weekends and during the summer. Clayton plans to get a job and work when he gets older.

Student of the Week

Tatum Creek has been named Student of the Week at Prairie Central Jr. High by his ELA instructor Rachel Elbert. Tatum, a seventh grader, is the son of Josh and Tricia Creek of Fairbury.

“Tatum is a hard worker and an active participant in class discussions,” Elbert said. “He is consistently one of the first to complete weekly assignments and likes to work ahead when he can.

“Tatum takes his academics seriously, and it shows. He is a pleasure to have in class.”

Tatum participates in football, basketball and soccer. His plans include going to college and participating in sports.
