Taunton Hannaford damaged in storm. What we know

TAUNTON — Hannaford Supermarket on Joseph Warner Boulevard in Taunton suffered weather-related damage over the weekend.

Caitlyn Cortelyou, External Communications Manager for Hannaford Supermarkets, confirmed via email the Taunton store “suffered significant damage during the recent storm” over the weekend, specifically to windows and the front entrance area on the produce department side of the store.

The rest of the store was not impacted and is currently open, said Cortelyou, but “Out of an abundance of caution, the store’s produce section is temporarily closed while we assess this damage.”

Cortelyou added, “Taunton customers may visit our nearby Middleboro store for their produce needs.”

The damage comes after the store recently underwent a massive remodel during most of 2023, which included new and expanded features to the produce department.

No timetable was given for when the produce department will re-open.
