Taunton man Med-Flighted after Raynham rollover crash with entrapment

RAYNHAM — A 33-year-old Taunton man was flown to Rhode Island Hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Raynham Tuesday night, Raynham Fire Chief Bryan Lacivita said.

First responders found the man trapped inside a Honda Civic that had flipped on its side in a wooded area near 205 Judson St. in Raynham at around 8:30 p.m.

Firefighters immediately went to work with hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the injured man, but due to the vehicle position and the amount of damage, a second engine was requested to assist, Lacivita said. With the help of a wrecker operator from Harry's Auto Wrecking, first responders were able to extricate the man from the car after an hour and 25 minutes.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to a Walmart parking lot and flown by a Boston Med-Flight helicopter to Rhode Island.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department.
