Tavern on Rush to reopen at new location in Gold Coast

CHICAGO — The iconic Tavern on Rush will reopen its doors this summer in a new location after closing in 2022.

The restaurant has relocated on the ground and second-floor of the Thompson Chicago Hotel, at 1015 North Rush Street.

The upscale steakhouse and bar will carry on its 25-year legacy in the Gold Coast neighborhood, just a few doors south of its original location.

According to a release from the restaurant, “this reimagined Tavern on Rush aims to bring the nostalgia, energy and charm patrons knew and loved with a modernized and fresh approach. The two-level, 16,000 square feet spaceincludes a main dining room, cocktail lounge, bar, outdoor patio and multiple rooms for private events.”

“Community is and always will be at the heart of Tavern on Rush. As this short-term retirement
draws to a close, we look forward to opening our doors once again to those who have loved us
for the last 25 years, and those who have yet to meet us,” said owner Phil Stefani.
