Taylor Dayne: 5 songs you need to know to sing along at Daytona Bandshell concert

In the era of Taylor Swift, the hits of veteran pop singer Taylor Dayne might not be as familiar to music fans who weren’t crowding the dance floors in the late 1980s.

So before heading out to this weekend’s “Summer Throwback Bash By the Beach” starring Taylor Dayne at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, here’s a look at the singer’s Top 5 hits that you need to know to be able to sing (and dance) along.

As a reminder, gates open at 6 p.m. for the Saturday show, which also features 1980s pop star Tiffany (“I Think We’re Alone Now”) and Freedom Williams of C+C Music Factory, known for the dancefloor burner “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).”

'Love Will Lead You Back'

Lest anyone think that Dayne can’t handle a big melodramatic ballad, this Diane Warren-penned hit from the singer’s 1989 sophomore release, “Can’t Fight Fate,” checks that crucial pop-star box. Expect to see couples slow dancing if/when it makes the Daytona Beach set list.

'With Every Beat of My Heart'

Another frisky offering from the ‘Can’t Fight Fate’ album, this song is a high-energy 1980s pop gem in that gives Whitney Houston’s hits a run for the money. The song enjoyed a resurgence a few years ago when Raphael Tate reimagined it in an extended remix.

'Can't Get Enough of Your Love'

Dayne put her stamp on this Barry White classic that she recorded with help from the members of C+C Music Factory. With C+C’s Freedom Williams on the bill Saturday, the song could surface at the show.
