Pop superstar Taylor Swift announced her support for Democrat Joe Biden in an interview with V Magazine.

In a preview of the article, released Wednesday, Swift said "I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs."

News of the endorsement came just hours before the Vice Presidential debate was set to kick off.

In a Twitter post, the 10-time Grammy-winning artist said "Gonna be watching and supporting Kamala Harris by yelling at the TV a lot."

Swift - who now has over 87 million Twitter followers - did not endorse Hilary Clinton in the 2016 election.

She later told Vogue Magazine that then-candidate Donald Trump was quote: "weaponizing the idea of the celebrity endorsement" and that she knew a Clinton endorsement wasn't going to help matters.

But Swift has been critical of the President in recent years.

After she announced she'd be voting for Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections, Trump told reporters he liked Swift's music "about 25 percent less."
