Taylor Swift: A History Of Her Feuds

Taylor Swift is known for a few things: an angelic voice, various "eras" in which she changes up her look with her music, her girl squad, cryptic lyrics, and of course feuds.

Tay has gained quite a few enemies within the industry during her long career, and the drama never seems to end. Whether its embarrassing ex-boyfriends with songs about them, defending herself against music executives, or an ultimate feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian that has dragged on for over a decade.

Kanye West: A Decades Long Feud

Way back in 2009 (can you believe that was a whole decade ago?) Kanye West stormed the stage during Taylor's acceptance speech for Best Female Video Award at the VMA's. Mouths dropped open, Beyonce was flustered, and the audience couldn't believe their eyes.

They seemed to make peace with each other around 2015 when the two were even spotted hugging each other and hanging out at the Grammy's. However, by 2016, Kanye released his song "Famous," referencing Taylor in his lyrics. She got pissed, phone calls were released, and everyone took sides.

It would seem Kanye and Taylor are definitely not BFF's at this point.

Feuding With Katy Perry

While they originally started out as pals, things took a turn for the sour in 2014. During Taylor's arena tour for her Red album, three of her dancers left the tour early to go on Katy's Prismatic tour.

Taylor later told Rolling Stone, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' [Then] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour."

Yikes!

In 2018, Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch, so it seems these two beauties finally worked things out.

Scooter Braun Buys Taylor's Catalog Of Music

Scooter Braun recently bought Big Machine Records in a deal worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Taylor was signed here at the beginning of her career, and Scooter offered her the chance to buy back her music.

Taylor accused the music mogul of bullying her, and things have recently gotten even uglier. Taylor posted a statement claiming Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun are not allowing her to perform any of her material prior to her most recent album Lover. This is a big problem for Taylor, as she will be performing at the American Music Awards, and a documentary about her life will be appearing on Netflix.

The Drama Continues

This dramz is heating up with Taylor writing to her fans, "Please let Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun know how you feel about this. Scooter also manages several artists who I really believe care about other artists and their work. Please ask them for help with this—I’m hoping that maybe they can talk some sense into the men who are exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote.”

Uh Oh! The Swifties will be coming out in full force against this guy!

Justin Bieber Defends Scooter Braun

Taylor and Justin Bieber used to be pals, and he even dated her BFF Selena Gomez on and off for a number of years. However, Scooter also manages Justin, and the singer defended him.

Justin posted to Instagram, saying, "Scooter has had your back since the days you graciously let me open up for you! So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on Scooter isn’t fair. What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? Seems to me like it was to get sympathy you also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully Scooter."

Things are on fire in the world of Taylor Swift feuds, stay tuned!
