Fight the scaries of Friday the 13th with a host of weekend fun in the Springfield area! From Taylor Swift to partial solar eclipses and more there's plenty to do.

Here's what to know:

Swift on the big screen

Viewings of the "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Concert Film" will hit the Route 66 Twin Drive In, 1700 Knights Recreations Dr., and AMC Theatres in Springfield beginning Friday.

The first show will start at 7:30 p.m. with subsequent shows this weekend being held at the same time on Saturday and Sunday. Shows will follow for the next three weeks from Thursday through Sunday.

Regular ticket prices are $19.89, while tickets for children under 12, seniors over 60 and first responders and military are $13.13.

Tours of the Pillsbury

Moving Pillsbury Forward is hosting two upcoming tours of the former Springfield Pillsbury Plant site, open and free to the public.

The first tour will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m., followed by two more on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. and noon. There, guests will take part in an approximate 45 minute walking tour of the ground floor area and several still standing buildings. Participants are recommended to wear sturdy shoes.

The tours will be held at 1525 Phillips Ave., where parking can be found along the corner of 16th Street and Phillips Avenue. Donations can be made and bricks from the recently demolished 1929 Warehouse #4 will be available.

Fall market

The Illinois Products Fall Market is back for a second year, coming back with an assortment of fall foods, drinks, gifts and decorations.

Held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds shed, the event will be accompanied by live music from Old Stogie and Robert Sampson on the Lincoln Stage. The Saturday market will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Partial solar eclipse

The University of Illinois-Springfield Astronomy-Physics Program and the UIS Astronomy Interest Group are inviting the public to a watch party of a partial solar eclipse Saturday morning.

The partial eclipse, the moon covering approximately 60% of the sun, will be visible throughout central Illinois and the western hemisphere. For safe viewing, eclipse glasses will be provided while supplies last and participants are invited to make pin-hole cameras.

If it is too cloudy, the event could be cancelled. Those wishing to confirm the event are told to contact UIS at 217-206-8342 at 10 a.m Saturday.

Performances at Boondocks

Doors opening at 7 p.m., two bands will play at Boondocks Pub, 2909 N. Dirksen Pkwy., on Saturday.

The Josie Lowder Band will open the Springfield show, followed by St. Louis-based FEEL- a band with a strong central Illinois connection. Lead guitarist Tyler Armstrong is from Springfield while drummer T.J. Steinwart grew up in Pleasant Plains. The two were formerly with the St. Louis band, Nick Bifano & the Innocents, which opened up for Boston at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in 2017.Tickets are available for $10 before Saturday by visiting the Boondocks website and for $15 the day of the show.
