Australian media reported that Taylor Swift landed in Melbourne just a few hours before the Kansas City Chiefs took their Super Bowl victory lap in downtown Kansas City Wednesday.

“Tay-Tay is not in the house,” a Kansas City TV anchor said before the festivities began.

But the pop superstar’s fans made sure she had a presence at the party. Some wore Eras Tours T-shirts and Chiefs-themed friendship bracelets, sang her songs for local TV reporters and held posters with slogans like “In My Chiefs Era.”

“This is the 4th championship parade I’ve witnessed in the past 10 years after decades of disappointment (Royals 2015, Chiefs x3). There are a TON of Taylor Swift fans here,” one fan tweeted on X, formerly Twitter.

Plenty of vendors were selling Chiefs merch, but a few were also selling Taylor Swift jerseys, with number 87, of course.

One fan told a Star reporter that he has prayer candles featuring Swift, her star tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid that he lights minutes before kickoff each time he watches a game at home. The candles are in a special order, with Kelce and Swift’s candles looking at each other and Mahomes staring at a replica Super Bowl ring Early got for being a season ticket holder.

Another fan who has been to all three Chiefs parades, 26-year-old Britney Quintrell of Kansas City, had a message for Swift: “I want Travis to tell her people here love her…or that I love her.”

Swift began dating Chiefs tight end before the beginning of the season and quickly became the team’s biggest celebrity fan. She was at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, the 13th Chiefs game she attended.

So when the Chiefs won, fans hoped to see her at the victory parade, especially because it fell on Valentine’s Day.

But she resumes her Eras Tour in Australia on Friday.

Beginning Tuesday night, thousands of people watched the progress of her private jet on a flight tracker website as it made its way from California, through Hawaii and to Melbourne. Media there reported the jet touched down almost an hour after midnight local time.
