Taylor Swift to release Christmas song (at midnight!) and a music video 'made from home videos'

Get excited, Swifties – new Taylor Swift music is coming!

In a video sent to "Good Morning America," the singer, 29, announced she is releasing a new Christmas song.

The even better news? You won't have to wait long, since the track is dropping at midnight.

"Hey, I know this pretty wild, but I've just written a Christmas song. I feel like it's weird to just, like, wait a year to put it out? I don't have anyone to ask right now except for..." Swift said in the video clip before turning the camera onto her cat. "Meredith, should I put out a Christmas song, like, now? K, that's hard to tell."

"GMA" host Lara Spencer added that Swift wrote the song over the weekend, "turning it around in record time."

Spencer also announced the music video is also ready to go. It will have a national TV premiere on "GMA" Friday.

"She got that done, too," Spencer said.

Swift shared the song announcement on her Twitter account as well, adding that the music video will be "made from home videos."
