Earlier this week, Marie Claire magazine wrote that it was time for Taylor Swift fans to put on their “tin foil hats” because a new theory had popped up suggesting that Travis Kelce had given the pop star that big, honkin’ gemstone ring she wore at her Dec. 13 birthday party.

Well, it’s time to ditch the tin foil.

After days of breathless headlines and countless TikTok and Instagram debates, Swift’s friend, actress Keleigh Teller, spilled the beans Thursday.

She’s the one who gave Swift the ring.

And, a Swiftie in Kansas City curious about the gemstones might have unintentionally sparked discussions about whether the ring came from Kelce.

The New York Post’s Page Six wrote: “Taylor Swift seems to have Travis Kelce quite literally wrapped around her finger.”

Here’s what Teller had to say.

“Love this ring I had made for my friend, she’s bejeweled,” she wrote in an Instagram Story Thursday. “So to all media outlets and Melissa at deux moi here ya go!”

There are shots fired there, but more on that in a minute.

Teller posted a picture of the ring, nestled in black velvet inside a shiny red box. It’s a stunner. The pear-shaped opal is framed by nine blue topaz gemstones.

Teller’s news traveled quickly through Swiftie circles among the same people who have spent the last week theorizing/wondering/hoping that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end bought the ring.

“Wow! RingGate has been blown wide open!” X user @DaOtterside tweeted Thursday after Teller came clean. “The ring Taylor Swift wore on her birthday was from Keleigh Teller, not Travis Kelce.

Personally, I learned a lesson from this because I made posts suggesting it might’ve not been from Trav & I got really hated on for saying anything to the contrary; so much so that I deleted those posts and lost a couple of moots over it.

“After that one Tik Tok video, everyone was on that train so I tried to convince myself that I must have missed something. So from now on, I am trusting my gut even if others don’t want to agree.”

The video referenced there is likely one that went viral on TikTok last week by a Kansas City fan known by the username @SwiftieinKC who has 29,000 followers. Her nickname is Jo Jo in KC.

“Swifties I need to talk about a ring,” SwiftieinKC says in the video that’s been shared more than 1,400 times and quoted in People magazine.

“Before I get into it, please don’t speculate that there’s any sort of promises attached to this ring. I just want to confirm what kind of ring this is, because if my suspicions are correct, this could have been a really wonderful birthday gift to have been given by a person, again, with no sorts of promises or strings attached.”

She emphasized more than once that she only wanted to confirm the stones in the ring, pointing out that opal is the birthstone for Kelce’s birth month of October, and blue topaz is Swift’s birthstone.

She also discussed a paparazzi photo that made the rounds the night of Swift’s birthday party in New York City. It showed Swift leaving the party with Teller and Teller’s husband, actor Miles Teller, as all three appeared to be examining something on Swift’s hand.

(The actress is listed as Keleigh Sperry on IMDB but goes by Keleigh Teller on her social media.)

“This to me is giving ‘gift,’ it’s giving ‘look what he got me.’ It’s giving ‘look how beautiful this custom piece is,’” SwiftieinKC says in the video. “… I am purely speculating here. But wow! What a gorgeous piece of jewelry.”

A gemologist told Page Six that the birthstones gave the “very sentimental” ring a symbolic nod to their relationship, referencing Swift and Kelce.

Teller did not reveal why she chose those particular stones. But SwiftieinKC and her followers theorized Thursday about why the actress “liked” the TikTokker’s video.

“She liked that post because we speculated the stone MEANING not who gave them to her and never mentioned engagement!!!” SwiftieinKC wrote to one follower Thursday.

“Honestly NEVER would have guessed after Keleigh liked your post about the ring that (it) made it into all of the news this past week!” another follower told the TikTokker.

People magazine trumpeted that the ring “has a special connection to her childhood — and Travis Kelce,” leaving fans to fill in the blank space.

TikTok user Swiftieinkc broke down the photos in a now-viral video, speculating that the center opal (Kelce’s birthstone) appears to be surrounded by what could be blue topaz, the Sagittarius singer’s birthstone,” People wrote.

“In another clip, Swiftieinkc shares that (Teller) liked her clip breaking down the ring, a telling move that has given new life to the theory that the bling is in fact a gift from Kelce, 34.”

And now about that comment Teller made about “Melissa at deux moi.”

Late last month, Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, who rarely makes statements on social media, vehemently denied the details of an Instagram Story posted by the anonymous gossip account known as Deuxmoi

Paine shared a screenshot of the story that said Swift and ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn entered into some kind of non-legal “marriage” when they were dating.

“It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these,” Paine wrote.

On Thursday, Teller posted a second Instagram Story video showing Swift wearing and gushing over the ring.

“This is unreal, Keleigh,” Swift can be heard saying. “Opal and blue topaz … this is like a present for Elizabeth Taylor, not me.”

“You’re my Elizabeth Taylor,” Teller tells her.

Teller captioned the video: “Love you, T, bye media.”
