Fans have been theorizing the drop of 1989 (Taylor's Version) ever since Taylor Swift's first re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor's Version) was released in April. Now though, Swifties are more convinced than ever that we could be getting the new album as soon as this week.

It all started when Taylor released a new line of merch on her site. The swag, which is called "Just a Summer Thing" collection, features a towel, coverup, scrunchies and more, all in the color scheme of browns, purples, blues, and greens. Those colors and the vibe of the products are reminding fans of the seagull sweatshirt Taylor wears on the cover of the original 1989 album. Of course, Swifties are convinced she's hinting at something.

The merch is also covered in 1989. Of course, that could easily be explained away considering it's the year Taylor was born.

Naturally, the Swifties went even deeper. The name of the merch collection comes from the Folklore song, Betty: "In the garden, would you trust me/If I told you it was just a summer thing?" Coincidentally (or not), that song also includes the line, "I'm only 17, I don't know anything." Because of that, fans think 1989 (Taylor's Version) may drop on June 17th, which is a Thursday, the day of the week when Taylor has been known to drop music and announcements.

Another theory is that the album will drop on they day the merch becomes available, August 6, which is a Friday, a common day to release music.

Just to be safe, I'm going to cancel all my plans on both those days and hope for the best.
