The Ohio State Marching Band did something it had never done in its history during halftime of the Rutgers game.
Due to the unusual schedule that saw Ohio State play five consecutive home games to start the 2022 season, the band played five straight halftime shows and had five new shows during each game.
That had never been done by the band before.

The last time Ohio State played five home games in five weeks was in 2003, but the band did not perform in five straight halftime shows.
So far, here are what the themes have been:
To mark the occasion, the band had a performance with layers, like an onion, when it performed the music from "Shrek!" The classic animated movie inspired the TBDBITL's formations while it played these songs:

Will the Ohio State Marching Band travel with the Buckeyes?
The Ohio State band will perform during one road game this season: Penn State. The band will also go to the bowl game if the Buckeyes are eligible.
Who 'dotted the i' for Ohio State today?
Dylan Penka , from Powell, "dotted the i" for the band during "Script Ohio" before the Ohio State-Rutgers kickoff. Meanwhile, Noah Jockett from Sylvania "dotted the i" for the band during "Script Ohio" at halftime.
