The Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host a drive-thru parade in celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness month from noon to 2 p.m. March 23 at the TBDD campus, 610 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia.

The event will be free of charge to drive-thru guests and participants. Participants are asked to bring giveaway items in addition to any promotional materials from an agency or group. The set-up for participant spaces will be held from 11 to 11:45 p.m. RSVPs are due by Feb. 16 by calling 330-440-5278 or emailing ksilverthorn@tuscbdd.org.

Each group of participants should dress in bright colors and/or a theme. The goal of the parade is to bring awareness, visibility and inclusion to individuals with developmental disabilities and celebrate a culture of diversity and equity. A table and chair can be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

TuscBDD serves a portion of people that are medically vulnerable. All COVID-19 protocols will be followed. Participants will be required to wear facemasks at all times while on TBDD property or within the TBDD event space. Social distancing will be maintained between groups, and people driving through will be required to remain in vehicles at all times
