TBI to investigate hotel fire in Mt. Juliet
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is en route to Mt. Juliet to investigate after a hotel caught fire Thursday afternoon.
The Mt. Juliet Fire Department said the fire happened just after 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Quality Inn & Suites near Herschel Drive. Firefighters believe the fire started on the south side of the building, prompting hotel guests and staff to evacuate.
Standoff situation ends in Lebanon with 1 in custody
Crews are currently pulling ceiling to make sure the fire did not extend to other areas of the building, according to investigators.
Officials said one firefighter suffered a minor hand injury, but was able to remain on duty and help extinguish the fire. No other injuries were reported.
The TBI is heading to the scene to do a full investigation.
