TCPalm's top high school sports performers for the week of Sept. 12-17
It was a strong week of individual performances across Treasure Coast high school sports for Sept. 12-17.
Despite weather again impacting several events and matches outdoors, a number of boys and girls put together personal bests and helped their teams record key victories in their seasons.
From the gridiron to the bowling alley, here are TCPalm's top high school sports performers for the past week.

Football
Jahari Grant, Treasure Coast
In one half of play, Grant totaled four tackles, one that went for a loss and added a sack in the Titans’ 28-7 win over Martin County.
George Roberts, Treasure Coast
Roberts ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans’ 28-7 victory over Martin County.
Gio Cascione, Jensen Beach
Cascione threw four touchdown passes, including the go-ahead 7-yard strike to Dennis Palmer, Jr. to lead the Falcons to a 33-30 comeback victory over Stoneman Douglas and help the program reach 4-0 for the first time in program history.
Tyler Aronson, Vero Beach
Threw two touchdown passes in Vero’s 21-0 win over Fort Pierce Westwood and has thrown 11 touchdowns in four games this season.
Wilky Denaud, John Carroll Catholic
Denaud made eight tackles and had six that went for a loss and also added a sack in the Rams’ 35-3 victory over South Fork.
Anthony Ferraro, John Carroll Catholic
Ferraro made five tackles and also blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown in the Rams' 35-3 victory over South Fork.
Caleb Cotton, Masters Academy
Cotton threw for 183 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 62 yards and three more touchdowns to lead the Patriots to a 94-16 victory over City of Life.
Bryce Haynes, Fort Pierce Westwood
In one half of play, Haynes made six tackles, one that went for a loss and recovered a fumble in the Panthers’ 21-0 loss to Vero Beach.
Cross Country
Addison Boyer, South Fork
Boyer ran a season-best time of 18:26.46 to earn a runner-up finish in the girls’ 3A race at Saturday’s Spanish River XC Invitational.
Emerson Brinn, South Fork
Brinn ran a personal best time of 19:08.99 to finish fifth in the girls’ 3A race at the Spanish River XC Invitational on Saturday and her time set a new freshman record for the program.
Jacey Lane, Lincoln Park Academy
Lane set a personal best time at the Spanish River XC Invitational, running 19:30.07 in the girls’ 2A race to finish fourth.
Ava Baysura, Vero Beach
Baysura ran 20:51.2 to grab the race win at Saturday’s St. Edward’s September Showdown, also leading her team to the championship.
Nicholas Colbert, Jensen Beach
Colbert won his third race in three events at the St. Edward’s September Showdown on Saturday, running a time of 16:29.1.
Justin Cannata, Jensen Beach
Cannata ran a strong second at the St. Edward’s September Showdown on Saturday, running a time of 16:36.6.
Alex Perez, Sebastian River
Perez finished 11th at the St. Edward's September Showdown on Saturday, making the difference for the Sharks defeating Vero Beach by one point to earn the team championship.
Volleyball
Shayla Henry, Centennial
In two big five-set wins during the week for the Eagles, Henry shined first collecting 14 kills and 12 digs in a win over Vero Beach on Monday and added 15 kills and five aces in a win over Treasure Coast on Thursday.
Kailani Zezas, Fort Pierce Central
Zezas had a great all-around performance in the Cobras’ five-set district win on the road over Vero Beach on Wednesday, collecting 22 digs and 13 digs.
Golf
Hannah Erwig, Jensen Beach
Erwig fired an even-par round of 36 to lead the Falcons to a match victory over Sebastian River on Tuesday.
Matthew Peter, Treasure Coast
Peter shot a 2-over 38 to lead the Titans to a match win over Fort Pierce Central and Centennial on Monday and also helped the team record its lowest culminative team score in the process.
Bowling
Quinn Bostic, Somerset College Prep
Bostic bowled a 288 game, including 10 strikes in a row and had a 531 two-game series to lead the Spartans to a match win over Centennial on Wednesday.
Ethan Paglione, Treasure Coast
Paglione bowled a 226 game and a 414 series to lead the Titans to a match win over Sebring on Thursday.
Nancy Roberts, Port St. Lucie
Roberts bowled a 245 game and a 419 series to lead the Jaguars to a match win over Somerset College Prep on Tuesday.
