TCU basketball adds former McDonald’s All-American to loaded transfer class

TCU basketball added another transfer to a class that is already among the best in the country.

Former Kansas big man Ernest Udeh committed to the Horned Frogs on Wednesday according to 247Sports national recruiting expert Travis Branham.

Udeh was McDonald’s All-American last year and was ranked the No. 31 prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, that’s five-star range.

Despite limited production as a freshman, 247Sports still ranked Udeh as a top-15 transfer. The 6-foot-10 center chose TCU over Kansas State and Duke.

Udeh appeared in 30 games as a freshman, averaging 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 blocks a game in 8.3 minutes a game. Udeh should see his numbers increase with a bigger role in Fort Worth as TCU needs a true center.

He’s now the fifth transfer to commit to Jamie Dixon joining Jameer Nelson Jr. (Delaware), Avery Anderson (Oklahoma State), Trey Tennyson (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) and Essam Mostafa (Coastal Carolina) along with incoming freshman Jace Posey and Isaiah Manning.
