TCU basketball landed one of the top transfers available with a commitment from Jameer Nelson Jr.

The son of former NBA all-star Jameer Nelson, Nelson Jr. averaged 20.6 points per game last season at Delaware. He also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 45% from the field. He plans to graduate in the summer, allowing him to be eligible immediately via the graduate transfer route according to ESPN.

Many sites ranked Nelson Jr. as a top-10 transfer prospect available. The 6-foot-1 guard projects to be the replacement for leading scorer Mike Miles Jr., who declared for the NBA draft last week.

Nelson Jr. was a first team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection this season and helped lead Delaware to the NCAA Tournament last season. The Horned Frogs aren’t done in the portal and are currently looking to add another big man to the roster with Eddie Lampkin Jr. departing the program in March.
