'Teach Our Future' concert will benefit Hawaii teachers

Aug. 2—Local musicians Jake Shimabukuro, Pure Heart, Robi Kahakalau, the Camarillo ohana and Makaha Sons will host "Teach Our Future, " a benefit concert this week for public school educators in a partnership with the Hawaii Foundation for Educators.

Billy V. will emcee. The show is at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Hawaii Theatre Center with a limited in-person audience, and will be available via livestream worldwide. Sponsors include Leu Okuda & Doi Attorneys at Law.

Tickets for the livestream are available at for $15 plus fees and taxes. Proceeds from the inaugural fundraiser will help HFE provide professional development activities for Hawaii's educators, a news release said.

"Teach Our Future " is one of the first in-person events for Hawaii Theatre in 2021, with tickets reserved for sponsors and their guests. Other sponsors include Hawaii Benefit Administrators Inc., University Health Alliance Health Insurance, Hawaii State AFL-CIO, First Hawaiian Bank, Benefit Plan Solution, Hawaii Medical Service Association, Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters and Hawaii Education Association Executive Committee.
