Authorities were searching Tuesday for a 42-year-old convicted bombmaker who escaped from a Nevada prison where he was serving a life sentence for a deadly 2007 explosion outside a Las Vegas Strip resort. Michigan State Police say an undercover trooper was shot early Tuesday morning on Detroit's West Side. That trooper is in critical condition but stabilized. According to MSP, the trooper was conducting surveillance near the 14000 block of Riverview when shots were fired from an upstairs window of a home.
