LAS VEGAS — Team EnVyUs defeated seven other MLG-invited teams to win the $100,000 Overwatch tournament at MLG Vegas this past weekend, completing a 4-0 sweep against the FaZe Clan despite it being their first tournament since last week's Overwatch balance update.

EnVyUS took the $40,000 lion's share for first. FaZe Clan came second with $20,000 in winnings. Cloud9 and Fnatic took 3rd and 4th place with $24,000. CompLexity Gaming, NRG Esports, Team Liquid and Rise Nation respectively took places 5-8 splitting the remaining $16,000 accordingly.

This is the first tournament Team EnVyUs has played since the Overwatch update went public December 13. The most notable changes came from Symmetra, now the first Overwatch hero with two ultimates since the addition of her shield generator.

In the grand finals between EnVy and FaZe you can see Dennis "InternetHulk" Hawelka using the newly balanced Symmerta to take the first two matches, showing us that she's already creeping up in professional play.

The Overwatch Invitational could only be viewed at the MLG website through EVE (short for Enhanced Viewing Experience) a real-time statistical scoreboard and match analysis viewer, on YouTube, or in person at MLG Vegas.
