In a scene from his new anti-Trump film, “Michael Moore in TrumpLand,” the Oscar-winning filmmaker predicts that Donald Trump will win the Nov. 8 presidential election because the middle class is fed up with the establishment and will vote for the Republican nominee as a “f*** you” to Washington.
“He is the human Molotov cocktail they have been waiting for,” Moore says. “The human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them.”
And Team Trump is trying to use the filmmaker’s warning — and film — as a tacit endorsement of his campaign.
Milo Yiannopoulos, writer for the conservative website Breitbart, posted a video to Facebook earlier this week with audio of Moore’s remarks and claimed that filmmaker was making the “case for voting Trump.” The clip, which has been viewed more than 9 million times, concludes with Moore saying, “Trump’s election is going to be the biggest ‘f*** you’ ever recorded in human history, and it will feel good.”
But what it doesn’t include is what Moore says next: That the disillusioned and “dispossessed” who voted for Trump — like the British who voted for the so-called Brexit — would quickly come to regret it.
“You used the ballot as an anger management tool — and now you’re f***ed,” Moore says. “You wanted to send a message. You had righteous anger. And justifiable anger. Well, message sent. Goodnight America. You’ve just elected the last president of the United States.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone last week, Moore — who endorsed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary — said he was “for Hillary before Hillary was for Hillary” and wants those who are thinking about voting for Trump to consider “the damage they could do by being a legal terrorist on November 8th.”
No matter. On Wednesday, the real estate mogul’s son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted a link to Moore’s comments, which drew a response from the filmmaker.
I probably don't agree with him on a lot but Michael Moore gets this one right 100% Listen & RT: Why Trump will win: https://t.co/7uFTeUlxKN

“Hey everyone,” Moore wrote. “Trump, Jr. [and the] right wing thinks my movie called ‘TrumpLand’ is pro-Trump! Haha. Pls don’t tell them otherwise!”
On Thursday, Trump also tweeted a link to audio of Moore’s remarks.

“I agree,” Trump wrote. “To all Americans, I see you [and] I hear you. I am your voice. Vote to #DrainTheSwamp [with] me on 11/8.”

Moore, though, may have the last laugh. All the attention has helped drive “TrumpLand” to the top of Apple’s iTunes chart.
