Here are the teams and individual qualifiers for the WIAA state gymnastics meet at Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The 53rd Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state gymnastics championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.

The team competition in Division 1 and Division 2 will be held Friday, starting at noon. The individual championships will be Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $9 per day plus fees and are available on the WIAA website at wiaawi.org.

Here’s a look at the qualifying teams, plus all of the individual competitors from USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin coverage areas.

TEAMS

Division 1

Hartland Arrowhead, Chippewa Falls/McDonell Catholic, Franklin/Muskego, Hartford, Homestead, Hudson, Janesville Craig, Menomonee Falls/Germantown, Sun Prairie East/West, Verona/Edgewood.

Division 2

Ashland/Drummond/Mellen, Elkhorn, Medford/Colby, Mount Horeb, Nicolet, Platteville/Belmont/Lancaster, Reedsburg, River Falls, West Bend West, West Salem/Aquinas/Bangor.

AREA TEAMS

Medford/Colby

Medford/Colby is returning to state for the second year in a row and the second time as a co-op. It finished in seventh place in Division 2 last season. Medford and Colby also qualified in 2020 and 2021 with Gilman. Medford qualified in 1972 and 2019. Medford/Colby took first place at last week’s Antigo Sectional with a team score of 134.875.

AREA INDIVIDUALS

Division 1

Lydia Barr, fr., Oshkosh West/North

Will compete in the all-around after finishing fifth at the Manitowoc Sectional with a score of 33.375. She also placed second on the balance beam (8.825) at the sectional.

Meghan Haas, sr., Sheboygan South/North

Will compete in the all-around after finishing third at the Manitowoc Sectional with a 33.675. She also placed second on the uneven bars (8.725) and tied for fifth in the floor exercise (8.60) at the sectional.

Ellie Jensen, sr., Marshfield

Will compete on the uneven bars after placing second in the event at the Chippewa Falls Sectional with an 8.875. She competed at state last year on the balance beam and tied for 21st (8.467).

Elle Matczak, jr., Sheboygan South/North

Will compete on the balance beam after finishing fifth in the event at the Manitowoc Sectional with an 8.55. She also placed ninth in the all-around at the sectional with a 32.45.

Olivia Navin, sr., Oshkosh West/North

Will compete in the floor exercise and the balance beam. She finished third on the balance beam with an 8.75 and tied for fifth in the floor exercise with an 8.60 at the Manitowoc Sectional, where she also placed seventh in the all-around (32.65). She competed at state last year on the vault and placed 26th (8.30).

Division 2

Avery Ahles, sr., Mosinee

She will compete on balance beam and in floor exercise. She tied for fifth on the balance beam at the Antigo Sectional with an 8.325 and finished third on floor with an 8.65. She competed at state last year in the vault and placed 20th with an 8.55.

Kyla Krause, jr., Medford/Colby

She will compete in the all-around after placing second at the Antigo Sectional with a 34.975. She also placed fourth in the vault (9.125), second on the uneven bars (8.80), second on the balance beam (8.65) and sixth in the floor exercise (8.40) at the sectional. She placed 22nd at state in the all-around last season with a 33.45 and her top finish was a tie for ninth in the vault with a 9.017.

Kate Malchow, sr., Medford/Colby

Will compete in the all-around after finishing third at the sectional with a 34.675. She finished first on the uneven bars (8.85), fourth on the balance beam (8.35), fifth in the floor exercise (8.425) and tied for fifth in the vault (9.05) at the sectional. Finished 21st in the all-around at state last season with a 34.116. Her top finish was ninth place on the uneven bars with an 8.85.

Abby Roecker, so., Waupun

Will compete in the all-around after finishing second at the West Bend West Sectional with a score of 36.35. Also placed second in the floor exercise (9.225), second on the uneven bars (8.90), second in the vault (9.30) and fourth on the balance beam (8.925) at the sectional. She finished fourth in the all-around at state last season with a 36.084, including a third-place finish on the beam (9.467).
