'Tears of joy' from students and classmates: Joyous Jacksonville school video goes viral

A Jacksonville elementary school classroom is popping up on Twitter feeds around the world after a teacher's video of his students' glee went viral.

The video was shot in Dwayne Taylor's second-grade classroom at Biscayne Elementary in north Jacksonville, First Coast News reports.

It shows a student named Harley surrounded by eager classmates. The kids stand to reap a reward if Harley's answer on a math quiz is correct.

"Harley, it's up to you," Taylor is heard saying on the video. "We made a bet. If Harley gets this right, then we can have free time. If you don't, then we're still working."

When Harley reveals the correct answer — seven centimeters — classmates react like they've just won the Super Bowl, dancing and screaming and hugging one another. One student sheds tears of joy.

The video, first posted by Twitter user Ziggy B, had been viewed 7.6 million times as of Thursday morning. It was also "liked" more than 46,000 times and retweeted more than 8,000 times.

The Duval County Public Schools Twitter account also shared the video. "Shoutout to Mr. Dwayne Taylor and his brilliant 2nd grade class at Biscayne ES," the video's intro reads. "This excellent Team Duval educator captured his students rapturous joy during their math lesson. He shared the video with the students' families on a parent/teacher platform. It has since gone viral!"
