Tech, Cal State Fullerton fight to 0-0 draw
FULLERTON, Calif. — Texas Tech goalkeeper Madison White recorded a shutout, but the Red Raiders had to settle for a scoreless tie against Fullerton State despite getting off more than twice as many shots as the Titans.
Tech had advantages of 12-5 in shots and 5-3 in shots on goal, but couldn't get anything past Fullerton goalkeeper Mia Ranson. Tech's Gisselle Kozarski had team highs of five shots and three on goal. Macy Schultz took four shots and Charlotte Teeter three, each putting one on goal.
Both teams are 1-1-2.
Tech has started the season with four low-scoring affairs: a 2-0 win against Troy, a 1-0 loss to Arizona and a 1-1 draw with New Mexico, all at home before Saturday's road opener.

Former Texas Tech golfer Mito Pereira is among 12 players selected for the international team in the Presidents Cup scheduled for Sept. 19-25 at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This year's event will be the 14th edition of the Presidents Cup, which matches a U.S. team against an international team from countries other than Europe, whose players are represented in the Ryder Cup.
Pereira, a 27-year-old from Chile, played his freshman year at Tech before he turned pro. He is No. 50 in the current world ranking. In May, he led the PGA Championship going into the final hole at Southern Hills, but made double bogey and finished one shot out of a playoff eventually won by Justin Thomas.
The international team will be captained by South Africa native Trevor Immelman. Its roster includes world No. 2 Cameron Smith and former world No. 1 Adam Scott, both from Australia, and 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama from Japan.
LCU volleyball
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Lily Bickley registered 13 kills, Aaliyah Gray added 10 and Lubbock Christian University swept Emmanuel (Ga.) 25-17, 25-7, 25-20 Saturday night in its last match at the Seawolf Invitational hosted by Alaska Anchorage.
Sage Chain added eight kills for LCU (1-3), which lost to Alaska Anchorage, Pittsburg State and Alaska Fairbanks earlier in the three-day event at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Chaparrals got 31 assists from Kayton Genenbacher and 24 digs from Kendall Mahaney, both Frenship graduates.
LCU begins its home schedule with the Chap Classic that starts Thursday at the Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. Thursday, Fort Lewis at 3 p.m. Friday, Adams State at 9 a.m. Saturday and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Jocelyn Martin led Emmanuel (1-3) with eight kills.
LCU men's soccer
Lubbock Christian University and Fort Lewis fought to a scoreless tie Saturday night, even though the Chaps outshot their visitors 14-4 while getting six shots from Pablo Galietero-Diez and four from Tariq Bakkali.
The Chaps (1-0-1) put only three of their shots on goal. All three were stopped by Evan Kowalski of Fort Lewis (0-0-2). Kowalski came on after starting goalkeeper Brendan Oberg received a red card in the 27th minute.
Tom Miles made two saves for LCU. It was the first shutout with the Chaps for the sophomore transfer from West Texas A&M.
