Texas Tech basketball player Jaylon Tyson, who started all but one game for the Red Raiders this past season, will have his name entered into the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report Sunday by The Athletic.

Tyson had not yet entered his name into the portal, a Texas Tech official confirmed Sunday.

The 6-foot-7 swingman from Plano John Paul II averaged 10.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during his sophomore season, the Red Raiders finishing 16-16. His rebounding average ranked eighth in the Big 12.

Assuming Tyson follows through and transfers, his next college program would be his third. He played in eight games for Texas during the 2021-2022 season before transferring to Tech at mid-term that year.
