From the state of real estate in Tallahassee's Black communities to spotlighting young entrepreneurs under 30, Techstars Startup Week Tallahassee has something for everyone.

The weeklong line-up hosted by Domi Station began Monday and continues through Nov. 12 and includes virtual and in-person activities.

It includes more than 20 events that include Florida State University, Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality, Ruvos, Apalachee Regional Planning Council, Capital City Chamber of Commerce, Google, HubSpot, and the Council of Culture & Arts.

Robert Blacklidge, Domi's executive director, said the word "startup" can be a misnomer.

"Startup week was started in the early 2000's before startups were really associated with company startups, businesses, and entrepreneurship exclusively," he said. "Startup week highlights all of the incredible industries in our community, from government to the arts – an entire week highlighting all that Tallahassee has to offer."

Blacklidge said today's entrepreneurs face many obstacles and there's an acute need for collaboration and resilience to achieve success and growth.

Over the last year, Domi companies have generated over $25 million in revenue and over 600 jobs.
