Tecumseh citywide garage sales coming May 18-20

TECUMSEH — Garage sale treasurer hunters should mark their calendars for May 18-20 when the city of Tecumseh’s annual citywide garage sale for 2023 will take place.

The citywide garage sale has been a community favorite dating back to 2006. It is the one time each year that Tecumseh residents can have a garage sale without having to purchase a permit through city hall, according to a news release from the city’s economic development department.

For this three-day event, the city encourages residents to dust off their hidden treasures and sort through their clothes. The community event brings the best of Tecumseh’s pickers to the streets as they bargain their way throughout the city.

This year’s event takes place May 18-20, starting at 9 a.m. each day. Closing time is up to each participating household. Individuals interested in sharing their address as a participating location can share it on Facebook at fb.me/e/zIMx0Qse. If participants are unable to post their address on Facebook, they can visit the city of Tecumseh’s web page at mytecumseh.org/residents/city_wide_garage_sale, and the city will share their location for them.

Tecumseh pickers and visiting guests can find information about participating locations on the citywide garage sale’s Facebook page at fb.me/e/zIMx0Qse. Not all sales run all three days, and new sales start daily.

“The city of Tecumseh looks forward to welcoming pickers and bargain hunters alike to this fun and free community-wide event,” economic development director Kelly Jo Gilmore said in the release.
