The Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education has voted to close the district’s pool due to concerns about the structural integrity of the facility's roof.

The decision comes as the district faces continuing structural integrity issues with the pool’s roof and follows an inspection conducted by Plymouth-based engineering firm SME.

A primary concern is the additional weight the roof could see with snow and ice in the fall and winter months. The district will expedite the necessary repairs, with the goal of restoring the facility to a safe and fully operational condition, a news release said.
