Ted Cruz is not welcome at Yankee Stadium. The Texas senator was greeted with a chorus of boos and insults when he attended a playoff match between the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros on Sunday night.

“You f**king loser. Racist piece of s**t. Go back to Cancun,” fans can be heard saying in a video posted to social media.

The controversial conservative senator waved and strolled to his seat while fans expressed their disapproval with their middle fingers.

At least one fan posed for a photo with the Texas politician. Many other critics, however, continued to lash out on social media.

Cruz faced more backlash when he posted a selfie on Twitter before the game and showed his support for the Astros.

Cruz is accustomed to getting bashed wherever he goes. As Blavity previously reported, one man confronted the senator at a Houston restaurant in May to demand a change to gun laws.

“Background checks ― is that so hard?” Benjamin Hernandez told Cruz in the restaurant.  “You can make it harder for people to get guns in this country. You know that. You know that. But you stand here, you stand at the NRA convention ― it is harder, it is harder when there are more guns to stop gun violence.”

As Blavity reported at the time, Cruz also faced wide backlash in 2021 when he decided to take a lavish vacation while many Texans struggled to survive a massive winter storm.
