The Full Trailer for Ted Lasso Season 2 Just Dropped

Last summer, season one of Ted Lasso offered its fans a bright spot of positivity in the middle of the pandemic. And now, after picking up a Golden Globe for his performance as the titular Ted, Jason Sudeikis is set to return to the small screen in the show's second chapter. As AppleTV+ put it, "Kindness is making a comeback."

Here's what we know so far about Ted Lasso season two.

The series has already been renewed for seasons two and three.

The show was always intended to have a three-season arc. "It's a three-season show," Bill Lawrence, Ted Lasso's co-creator said on the podcast Fake Doctor, Real Friends. Lawrence explained. "For us, everybody knows that they get an end to this story in the third season."

Lawrence also hinted that a fourth season might be possible, but unlikely.

"Ted Lasso is a three-season show. After the third season, I will desperately try to get Mr. Sudeikis to do a...The only way I think a fourth season of Ted Lasso exists would be if TL went and coached a soccer team that played about a block from Jason's house in real life, you know what I mean? He's got young kids," he said, per Comicbook.com.

All your favorite characters are returning.

That includes Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Hannah Waddington (Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), Nick Mohammed (Nathan Shelley), Jeremy Swift (Higgins), and Brett Goldstein, whose character Roy Kent ended last season heading toward retirement.

At least one unfamiliar face, that of actress Sarah Niles, showed up in the trailer, promising a new character joining the Richmond team.

Season two will likely focus on AFC Richmond's fight to get back in the Premiere League.

At the end of season one, the team faced relegation to a lower league, so it's fair to assume season two will show them fighting their way back. Watch the full trailer for the season here:

The new season premieres on July 23.

It just recently wrapped filming.

On June 4, co-creator Brendan Hunt tweeted, "Season 2 of Ted Lasso... has wrapped. Big exhale. Final weekend in London commence!"

And he later clarified in a reply that post-production is "already well underway."
