Ted Lasso's season 3 has a trailer, and it teases a big showdown between the titular character and Nate Shelley.

At the end of the second season, Nate moved to West Ham United after feeling unappreciated by Ted, and the largely dialogue-less trailer shows footage of their meeting with AFC Richmond.

The two-minute clip is mainly a montage of scenes from the upcoming season, with the few lines of dialogue involving a dressing-room speech and a joke at the expense of Roy Kent.

While the trailer is scarce on details, it’s clear that Ted and Nate’s fiery relationship will be at the centre of the drama, and actor Nick Mohammed previously outlined his hopes of Nate having a redemption arc.

“We'll see if Nate manages to find his way back to Richmond,” he began. “The thing with Ted Lasso is the audience are possibly expecting a redemption arc for Nate, and I'd like to see one I think because that would be nice.

“Equally I could well imagine the writers thinking: 'No, we're going to turn it on its head', because that's what they did in season two, playing against everyone's expectations, so he might be the one character they don't redeem,” he continued.

The third season, which will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 15, is rumoured to be the concluding chapter in the series, with Brett Goldstein admitting that he didn’t know if the show would continue.

“I get that everyone wants to know stuff but wouldn't it be better if you don't know anything?” he asked. “There's so few surprises [anymore] and if you’re into it, how wonderful to discover it again in a new way. I don’t want to spoil anything.

“I love all of these characters and want it to end well, but Jason has a very clear vision and always has. No one is phoning it [in],” he continued.
