Ted Lasso stars reunite at real-life football match

Ted Lasso might be over now, but fans got to see a mini-reunion last week, as stars Phil Dunster and Toheeb Jimoh both took part in the Game4Ukraine charity football match.

The Jamie Tartt and Sam Obisanya actors took part in the match at Stamford Bridge alongside Russell Howard, Tom Grennan, Chelcee Grimes and a host of professional footballers. Emma Hayes and Arsene Wenger served as managers.

Dunster took to Instagram to share a snap from the match, writing in the caption: "Game4Ukraine Still struggling to get my head around being involved in such a brilliant event… even if it did mean me woefully failing to mark either @therealjoecole @clarenceseedorf for the 15 minutes I played."

"[Andriy Shevchenko] and [Oleksandr Zinchenko] brought this to life with @united24.media after visiting a school in Ukraine destroyed by Russian missiles and vowed to raise the money and awareness to help the families and community affected to build back."

Unlike in the show, Dunster and Jimoh played on different teams, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

While fans would love to see more of Ted Lasso, series co-developer and star Jason Sudeikis has stated that this very much is the end.

"This story is done," he said. 'It sounds like such a political answer, but it's the truth. We only conceived these three [seasons], then this thing became this big old thing."

That said, Sudeikis did add that there's potential for more content from the series — "whether it's [a book], whether it's doing podcasts about the episodes to offer those audio commentaries... just to talk through things and the themes".
