According to police, the teen admitted to making the threat, however, said he had no intention of harming anyone and did not plan to carry out any acts of violence.

Orrville City Schools Superintendent Brett Lanz released a statement Tuesday that read:

A student who neither attends Orrville High School nor lives in the area made a threat directed at the school over a phone call that was heard by staff while they were dealing with a situation of another student after the school day had concluded. The Orrville Police Department was already on-site and the related situations were handled safely and expeditiously. As a follow-up, Orrville City Schools communicated to families about the incident and that the student was taken into custody for investigation and possible charges. We thank the staff for their response and law enforcement for their appropriate handling of the incident.

The teen was taken to the Juvenile Attention Center, according to authorities.
