Teen attacked at Queens bus stop, but knife breaks off and student escapes unharmed

An attacker with a knife tried to stab a 16-year-old Queens student waiting for the bus after school — but the weapon broke and the would-be victim escaped without getting hurt.

The attacker, who appears to be about the same age, ran off and is being sought.

The lucky teen was confronted about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday as he waited for a bus outside Queens Metropolitan High School on Metropolitan Ave., in Forest Hills.

The stranger walked up to him and tried to stab him in the chest, police said, but the blade broke off without the victim suffering any injury.

The weapon was recovered, with police releasing a picture of it and the attacker to the media.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
