Teen Damages Property In ‘Devious Licks’ Challenge. Mom Admits She Hasn’t Held Him Accountable

Heather says her 14-year-old son, Trenton, was expelled after he was caught on camera damaging school property and stealing a handicap parking sign from the school parking lot. She says his activities were then online as part of a trending social media challenge known as "Devious licks." Heather says Trenton caused around $900 in damages at the school and now faces possible felony and misdemeanor charges for theft, destruction of property, and trespassing. Heather’s fiancé, Michael, says the police have been to their home half a dozen times in the past several weeks due to Trenton’s behavior. He says he doesn’t think that the 14-year-old understands the consequences of his actions. “Trenton is easily provoked into doing bad things because he wants to have friends, but he’s picking the wrong friends,” says Michael, noting that he and Heather disagree on how to discipline her son. Heather says, “If things don’t change with Trenton, I feel like he’s going to end up in jail, and Michael and I will no longer be together.” Heather admits she doesn’t punish her son and hasn’t held him accountable for his actions at the school.
