Teen dies after November 20 crash in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police in Fairfax County said one of the six teenagers injured in a crash on Nov. 20 in Fairfax County passed away due to their injuries days later.

Officers said the other vehicle occupants have since been released from hospital.

Police said the crash took place before 5:00 a.m. on November 20. Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 2600 block of Pioneer Lane.

Six of the seven juvenile occupants were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives said the 17-year-old driver was traveling southbound on Shreve Rd. at high speeds when he lost control of his vehicle as he crested the top of a hill.

The vehicle struck a tree and spun, ejecting five of the teens in the vehicle. One teen was trapped and had to be extricated.
