Teen dies in weekend crash near Stanberry

Jul. 3—A 13-year-old boy from Bethany, Missouri, was killed Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash a mile west of Stanberry, Missouri.

Dustin W. Beaty, 46, of Bethany, was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 136 when he drove off the road and hit an embankment, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The Jeep hit a field entrance and went airborne, flipping multiple times before landing on its wheels by the roadside, according to the crash report.

The teenager, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Mosaic of Albany, Missouri. Ambulances transported Dustin and Angela D. Beaty, 43, also of Bethany, to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for serious injuries, according to the crash report.

All three reportedly were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
