Teen driver hospitalized in Holland Twp. crash

HOLLAND TWP. — A teenage driver was hospitalized following a crash Thursday afternoon.

The crash took place at 3:57 p.m. May 19 on Felch Street near West Shore Drive in Holland Township.

nullThe Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said a 17-year-old Holland Township girl driving a 2008 Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on Felch Street. The teen struck the back of a semi trailer that was parked on the roadway to unload equipment.

Due to the crash, the Ford Fusion overturned, pinning the teen in the vehicle. She was extricated by the Holland Township Fire Department and taken to a local hospital via ambulance. Police said her injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office. The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by AMR Ambulance and the Holland Township Fire Department.
