Teen killed in Greenacres drive-by shooting survived prior attack outside medical office, PBSO says

GREENACRES — A 17-year-old male who survived being shot at in Greenacres last month was killed Tuesday morning in a drive-by shooting, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded shortly after 10 a.m. to a call in the 500 block of Fleming Avenue, about three-quarters of a mile southwest of John I. Leonard High School, and found the teen deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

PBSO investigators have not disclosed the name of the teen, but said he was the same person wounded in a shooting April 13 outside a medical office in the 4900 block of 10th Avenue North.

On Tuesday, the same teen was shot as he was walking out of a residence, PBSO said. Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide. Authorities have neither named a person of interest nor a motive as of Tuesday afternoon.

The homicide is the second reported in Greenacres this year and is one of 25 in Palm Beach County, according to a Palm Beach Post database.
