Teen seriously injured after motorcycle crash in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A teenager was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Lancaster County Friday afternoon.

East Hempfield Township Police said in a news release that a 17-year-old motorcyclist and a pickup truck crashed into each other on PA 283 west of Roherstown Road around 4:30 p.m.

The teen suffered serious injuries from the crash and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, police said. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Traffic was backed up since the road was closed for two and a half hours as police investigated the crash. The highway reopened at about 6:50 p.m.

East Petersburg, Rohrerstown, Hempfield, and Lancaster Township Fire Departments, and Manheim Township Police assisted at the scene.
