A 17-year-old teen narrowly escaped death early Saturday after he was shot in the chest outside a Bronx apartment building, police said.

The young man was hanging out at the River Park Towers on Richman Plaza near the Harlem River around 1:30 a.m. when a gunman fired off at least one shot, cops said.

Medics rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital and he was expected to survive.

It was not immediately clear if the victim was the gunman’s intended target, authorities said.

The teen said that he heard the gunshot and only realized he had been hit moments later, a source with knowledge of the case said.

There have been no arrests.

Cops were scouring the area Saturday looking for surveillance footage that could help them identify the shooter.
