There, Niles police say, the boy was walking with a group of people when a light colored pickup truck drove past them once before circling back. A couple of people got out of the truck and soon a "short confrontation" ensued between the two groups, according to police.

One of the people from the truck then pulled out a handgun and shot the boy before driving off in the truck, police say. The boy was rushed to the hospital by first responders but he was declared dead "a short time later."
