The two Villa Hills teenagers killed in a boating crash at Lake Cumberland July 14 were the sons of Greg Fischer, chairman of Fischer Homes, the well-known Northern Kentucky homebuilder.

In a statement released today, Fischer Homes said it was mourning "the tragic and profound loss" of 14-year-old Cole Fischer and 18-year-old Chase Fischer.

The company extended condolences to Greg Fischer and his wife, Amy; the boys' sister; and the boys' grandparents, Henry and Elaine Fischer.

"The Fischer Group has always been a company about family, and our team is grieving with and praying for the entire Fischer family," the statement said.

"Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We ask that their privacy be respected during this unimaginable time."

The Pulaski County, Kentucky, Coroner's Office has said investigators got a call about the crash between a boat and a jet ski in the Big South Fork of Lake Cumberland, near the Woodson Bend boat dock, just before 1:30 p.m. July 14.
