'Teletubbies' debunks viral tweet about Sun Baby having a baby

You know it's a good day online when Teletubbies has to set the record straight.

Jess Smith, the woman who played the iconic Sun Baby on the show during its original 1997-2001 run, was the subject of a Twitter misunderstanding on Monday when a photo of her holding a baby made the rounds.

The photo, which was captioned "The teletubbies sun baby has a baby," was flooded with replies from people saying how old it made them feel. So many people reacted, in fact, that the official Teletubbies Twitter account (yes, that exists!) was forced to do a debunk. The baby is actually the new Sun Baby, Berry, who appeared in the Teletubbies reboot.

So no, the photo wasn't exactly what people thought. But does it still make me feel old? Absolutely. The Sun Baby is 24-years-old! She's a dance educator! It's wild. The passage of time, am I right?

The person who tweeted the misleading information — user @Lu_Lams_ — owns the mistake, for the record. "I absolutely 100% take this L with honour and grace," they tweeted on Monday.

Most importantly, the Teletubbies have a verified Twitter account.
